The Hand on the Heart

– a dance performance in darkness

Darkness is a picture of our time where we try to navigate in a boundless space. Where the benchmarks of the past no longer apply. Where countries disappear, national borders are both degraded and strengthened, economic and social structures shifted, values chance and people move. Even the earth has begun to move on it. Like a wild animal kept in chains

But the darkness is also charitable. It gives the body calm and new eyes. Sounds, images and words tone up and wipe out to resurface in new contexts. Well-known concepts are transformed. Prejudices disappear in the dark and we can sense a new presence. To find new answers, we need to look where no answers have been given before.
